• This site is under development, therefore should not be referred or referenced to. It takes a little time to load the images and at times site may not be available, so kindly revisit after sometime.
• This site is developed to be considered as an educative reference material, and doesn't claim to be of high scientific or technical accuracy, even though it serves more than general purposes.
• Shape of day / night mask chosen is sinusoidal, which is correct for only sols of vernal or autumnal equinox. For other sols through out Martian year, it should have been more oblate towards both poles.
• Sun's altitude is based on days since Vernal equinox.
• Satellites' eccentricities are very high (MAVEN =0.952756, ISRO MOM =0.989105513), hence correct computation of true anomaly within browser is very diffictult to get. Therefore an impirical method is used, which gives only indicative but consistant result (no retrograde motion, due to negative true anomaly by algorithms).
• MAVEN was planned with several changes in orbit. And has been subjected to orbit changes, as well as due for orbit changes. Hence it is not possible to offer correct oribital position or other parameters likes oribit number, distance etc. MAVEN mission, completed 1,000 orbits around the red planet on April 6, 2015.
• As angle of inclination for MOM is 150 deg, therefore it moves from West to East. As revolution period is also high (> 72 hrs), it apprears mostly stationary on canvas.
• The canvased image is from NASA's website. Icon images for rover, sun, satellite and mask are also from websites without or with little alteration. Credit is hereby passed on to their respective orignators along with sincere thanks.
